I wanted to showcase how inspiration soccer and the World Cup can be. I choose to use the image of the United States team celebrating their goal while in the background the image that is faded is a picture of a soccer ball with countries flags attached to it. The term “The beautiful game” is used in soccer and is translated from a Portuguese saying “o jogo bonito”. It represents how football is a graceful sport that is captured around the world regardless of a person’s background.
This is what I would post if I was running the fifaworld cup instagram account. This photo shows the picture of Lamine Yamal who is one of the star players of the world cup this year where he debuted at only 19 years old making him one of the youngest players to play. I inpouted the team celebrating their win and 2 pictures of other teams that played really well too. I also captioned it “For the love of the game” to indicate how major this event is.
For my Video Project, I wanted to showcase the importance of how the World Cup unites communities and influences the audience. I created a short video by finding clips online via Tiktok and Instagram then compiled them together to show players and fans in celebration. The questions I wanted the audience to have in mind while watching is how this sporting event shapes cultures, tourism, economies and communities all over the world. With the clips I chose, I wanted to captivate a positive feeling and overwhelming emotions with how important soccer is across many nations.
